What can I say about Carmelo? You could take the boy out of New York, but you couldn't take New York out of the boy!
There were days he made me laugh so hard I was crying, and then there were days he made me so mad I wanted to strangle him!
He sincerely cared about everyone he worked with, and we all knew it! His heart of gold, and larger than life personality will definitely be missed by so many of us who had the pleasure to know him. RIP Carmelo.

Carmelo trained me as a production supervisor at AA. He was supposed to show me what to do and then let me run the shop... but he would grow so attached to all of the shops he was responsible for, that we wouldn't give them up... it was more like we co-supervised the shop instead! He was rough around the edges, but loved all of his crews... and they loved him too! He had a silly way of getting everyone's attention, he gave us all nicknames, and he would sing and dance to put a smile on our faces and to ease whatever tensions were in the shop!
He had a kind heart and was definitely a fighter. He will be missed by all that took the time to know him.

Q: What will you never forget about Carmelo?
A: I will never forget the life lessons my god father taught especially living with him the past 3 years he taught me so much from a young age I felt a strong connection to him it’s like the old saying kids can tell when a person is a good person and that he was he always asked me if I needed anything throughout the years when he got sick he would still ask if I needed anything I would say just your love because it was always enough you will always be a second father to me I’m happy I was able to give back to him the way he did for me it was my greatest honor to take care of my uncle Mel and I will hold him in my heart until we meet again love your proud god daughter Amanda

I first met Carmelo at church at Owasso First Assembly. I was in 8th grade and we were at a dessert auction, he generously bought me a cake I wanted and had became kinda like a fun uncle to me ever since. He always made sure to check on me and came to some of my events when he had a chance. I’m on pom and he came to watch me perform at a few of the football games so this is a picture from that. My condolences to his whole family! He had a fun personality and will be missed so much!

The pictures are of Carmelo, Tony O and Dave M, his Waltham friends when we were home on leave from the Navy, A bootcamp pic when I graduated and was leaving Memphis, Last time in Waltham together in 2015, a wedding we were at many moons ago, and a day cruise pic we took out of Boston. He was always a fun person to be around, generous and thoughtful of others. A good friend, son, brother to all who knew him. He will be missed very much. Till we meet again my brother, rest in heavenly peace in our Lords kingdom.....

Fazio was my first supervisor here at American Airlines. You could hear him coming a mile away. He was loud, boisterous and a little scary until you knew him well enough to know he was a big ole softie! Rest in peace Fazio - we will miss you.

Q: What was Carmelo really good at?
A: Fazio was the first Supervisor I met when I started AA. He was loud, obnoxious at times, but he knew how to make a new nervous employee feel at ease. He could make anyone laugh and if he had to dance to do it...by golly he was dancing. He will be missed here in TUL by me and many others. RIP in peace my East Coast friend.

We met Carmelo at church in Owasso, OK. We were greeters at that time and when he came in the doors on Sunday morning he always had a smile on his face. We sure missed him when he went back to New York. Prayers for the family.

I first met Carmelo when he came to work for American Airlines at the Tulsa Oklahoma maintenance base.
New York and Oklahoma are about as different as you can get, but he soon made an impression on everyone as a man dedicated to his job and to the men who worked for him. He was a uniquely funny character and underneath a tough exterior lived a very big heart.
He became a friend to many of us and I will miss him dearly.
Rest In Peace Carmelo.

So much I could say about Carmelo. . .! Like Holly, I met him when he came to Tulsa to work for American. Being a nice, quiet, midwest girl, I found Carmelo to be quite abrasive and intimidating when he first started. But the longer I knew him the more I discovered that that exterior NY bravado hid a gooey and generous interior. I came to enjoy stopping by his office for a short (and oftentimes entertaining) visit when I was on maintenance floor.
I will miss you, Carmelo! Rest in Peace! <3
