James L. Wong, a beloved husband, father, and friend to many, passed away at the age of 60 on Monday, January 30th, 2023, after a courageous battle with gastric cancer. He passed surrounded by his loving family who provided him with unwavering support during his illness. Born on March 31st, 1962, in Lima, Peru, James was an extraordinary man who pursued his passions with determination. He went on to study law at San Martin de Porres University and earn his J.D. from New York Law School. James was known for his infectious smile, warm personality, and a heart that overflowed with love for those around him. He kept in touch with his friends and family constantly, always making sure they were doing well and including them in his life. He cherished his relationship with his wife Jessica, whom he married on October 2nd, 1990, and adored his two daughters, Hannah, and Nyla, who stuck by him until the end. He always worked tirelessly to provide for his family and ensure their stability and happiness. From their home in Valley Stream, James was a very active person who lived a life filled with purpose and joy. He loved spending his time playing pickleball, volleyball, and running, determined to maintain his fitness and health even during his cancer battle. Despite the painful side effects of chemotherapy, he refused to let his illness slow him down, instead focusing on staying active and engaged in the things he loved. Even as his health declined during his final round of chemotherapy, James remained resolute in his determination to beat cancer. He left behind a legacy of love, compassion, and courage that will live on through the cherished memories shared by his family and friends. Although his time with us was too short, he has gifted us with memories that exist outside of time. James L. Wong, querido esposo, padre y amigo de muchos, falleció a la edad de 60 años el lunes 30 de enero de 2023, después de una valiente batalla contra el cáncer gástrico. Falleció rodeado de su amorosa familia que le brindó un apoyo inquebrantable durante su enfermedad. Nacido el 31 de marzo de 1962 en Lima, Perú, James fue un hombre extraordinario que persiguió sus pasiones con determinación. Estudió derecho en la Universidad de San Martín de Porres y obtuvo su J.D. de la Facultad de Derecho de New York Law School. James era conocido por su sonrisa contagiosa, su personalidad cálida y un corazón que rebosaba de amor por quienes lo rodeaban.
