Alphonse A. Argo, age 93, of Oceanside, New York died on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Beloved husband of Alice (nee Gormley). Loving father of Annette O'Brien (Pat) and Stephen (Carole). Devoted grandfather of Michael, Rachel, Peter, Alex and Patrick. He is a proud veteran of WWII serving in the Merchant Marines, US Army and Army National Guard, as well as a Fourth Degree Knight in the Oceanside Knights of Columbus and member of the American Legion.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:45am on Monday, October 21st at St Anthony's RC Church, 110 Anchor Ave, Oceanside, NY. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton on Monday, October 21st at 12:00 pm.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 19th from 7-9pm and Sunday, October 20th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Vincent De Paul (www.stvincentdepaul.net)  or Calvery Hospital (www.calveryhospital.org).
