I just learned this evening about Mike’s passing in 2023.
Mike and I worked together and sat next to each other for three years at Merrill Lynch on the Commercial Paper trading desk. During my time working with Mike, he took me under his wing and taught me the ins and outs of the CP market. Although we had different ways of doing things, Mike and I found a common ground througg our love of sports. Mike and I loved college football, the NFL and baseball and even though Mike was hard at work, we always managed to find some time every day to talk sports and share a few laughs.
I have great memories of coming in to work every morning at 7:15, seeing Mike already at his desk, organizing the Libor report for daily morning desk meeting.
I am very sad to have heard this news about Mike. He was always a good guy - old fashioned, tough and hardworking - and he was also a very proud father who loved his wife Patti and was a great mentor to me.
