I met Dr Ferrara in 2000 and continued to see him until 2023. I went to call his office to schedule my next colonoscopy and saw office permanently closed so i googled his name only to find his obituary. Needless to say I was devastated. He treated me for a cancerous polyp in 2000. I saw him religiously after that. In 2017 I knew I was due for my next colonoscopy but put it off for a couple of months. Then I ran into him in the waiting room of my orthopedic surgeon and after chatting with him it was an omen that we ran into each other bc I called his office the very next day and scheduled the appointment. I’m due for my next in 2025 and don’t know where to go. You will be sorely missed. I pray I’m as fortunate with the next gastro doctor as I was with you. RIP Dr Ferrara.

My husband and I just received our notification that Dr. Ferrara passed away. It is so hard to believe. Dr. Ferrara was one of those doctors whom you trusted completely because you knew they cared about you as a person and didn't see you as an anonymous "patient." We recommended him to everyone. He made you feel comfortable and that your well being mattered to him. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family. We are so very sorry for your loss. The world has lost one of its bright lights that helped so many through dark times.

I just received notice of Dr. Ferrara's untimely passing. I am both shocked and heartbroken. He was an amazing diagnostician and would not quit on you until he found an answer. He was a brilliant man and athlete. I am so sad that the medical field will never find anyone like him . I'm blessed to have had him in my corner. My condolences to his Friends and family.

We have just learned the sad news of Dr. Ferrara's untimely passing in a letter we received today from his practice colleagues. We are profoundly grateful for Dr. Ferrara's care and dedication to his profession. He identified a subtle rectal cancer I didn't know I had 15 years ago. I never hesitated to let him know during all my ensuing colonoscopies over the years that I credit him with saving my life. He was an unassuming, yet towering figure, in many ways. Our sincere condolences to all his loved ones. Fred and Gloria Schramm

I've know Neil since I was a freshman in college. I am so shocked & sad at the news of his passing. Neil was always compassionate & caring to me & my family, especially when one of my girls was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when she was 5 month old. Neil gave me all the information, was a great person to discuss her case with, & asked about her health whenever we met, which was too infrequent. God bless you Neil, I will miss you. Our condolences to Alicia & family.

I'm so upset to hear the passing of Dr. Ferrara. We worked together side by side in QLIMG/ACPNY for 15 years. Janet, Jerry, and I use to laugh all the time about silly things and just enjoying the day. the joke was always about his lunchbox/cooler, how he could use it as a weapon. He will forever be missed by his Woodbury Family. Dr. Ferrara and Jerry were like giggling school boys. Off in the corner laughing and not sharing the joke with everybody because they were the only guys in the dept. We love you Dr. Ferrara. Condolences the Family and close friends of Dr. Ferrara's family.
