My grandmother was my favorite person and I know held that title for numerous people. She had this way about her to make you feel truly seen in a world that can be so hard and judgemental. She was genuinely so proud of our accomplishments and saw the best in each one of us grandchildren and her children. I sometimes feel lost without her physical presence here on earth, but it is in the thoughts and memories of her that she will always be present. She thought me to never take the little things for granted. Especially the constants and their novelties. The tiniest things I think about her from her pins to her bright orange deep coffee mugs, at sleepovers seeing those vulnerable moments of her walk to the kitchen to her room in her floor-length nightgowns she let you borrow no matter your age, to the spot she did her bills in the kitchen always organized. Above the kitchen sink on a lazy Susan the variety of glasses that all had an equal chance to be seen, her spot at the dining room table not being the head but rather the one closest to the kitchen where even if you wanted to get food yourself, she would beat you to it and have had made you a plate. We would do ANYTHING for her and she didn't ask for much other than if we were happy. She was proud of who we were just because and I know that is because of her pure love. I don't know how we got so lucky with a grandmother like her, but as she taught us, Why wouldn't we be so lucky?

Dear Patty and Jim,
I have had the honor and privilege to have met your mother a very long time ago. She was unquestionably one of the nicest and upbeat ladies I knew - and quite a stunning woman.
She was unquestionably the behind the scenes support to your dad through his significant leadership challenges, in the Local and the Sector - being President of both. She also raised two centered and dedicated children who preserved the legacy of the Union Jim created.
Rest in peace, Frances.
