Obituary of Eleanor Royere

Eleanor Constance Royere,  died at the age of 98 on May 1st in Oceanside, New York.  She was born in Brooklyn on March 7, 1925 to her parents Joseph and Constance Libasci, (nee D’Agnes). She grew up in Rockville Centre where she graduated Southside High
School in 1943, third in her class. She was married in May 1957 for 53 years until the death of her now late husband Robert E. Royere.

 

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 8th at St Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 88 Anchor Ave in Oceanside.  Burial immediately following at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard Calverton, NY.  A Celebration of life will be held at a later date, details will follow.

 

She was a wonderful wife and mother.  A force of nature, living independently and playing her beloved Mah Jong up until her final days.  She had an unwavering faith and belonged to many of her church groups as well as teaching catechism. Being with her family was everything to her and she never forgot a birthday or anniversary!

 

Eleanor is survived by her two children, Robert G Royere (wife Frances) of Bayville and Andrea Baum (husband Seth) of Manhattan as well as her five grandchildren Hailey, Tyler and Brandyn Royere and Harris (wife Lizzy) and Alex Baum.  She is also survived by the many nieces and nephews who she adored and who loved her in return.

 

Preceding her in death, along with her parents and late husband, are three brothers, Alphonse, Anthony and Francis Libasci, and two sisters, Marie Mantovano and Anne Tang.
