Joanne made such a difference in my life. I wish I had a chance to say that in person instead I waited too long to find her. I was one of her Fort Hamilton kids and to know her was to love her the way she loved you and her dogs! She made such an impact in my life and at one point yelled at my mother that she was going to adopt me if she didn't get her act together. This is the one woman that EVER fought for me and showed me kindness in my youth. She was truly a god send to me in my youth. I only wish I got to say that instead of type it. She changed the trajectory of my life in a way that I know she had no idea. I only wish I had her outside of school. What an AMAZING woman.
