Salvatore Famularo, born on 5/11/1930, of Oceanside, NY passed away on 3/11/2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Sal was the husband of the late Rose. He is survived by his 4 children of whom he so greatly loved, Mary, Catherine, Rosetta & Vincent along with their spouses, Ray, Jerry, David & Terri. He took such pride in his family especially his grandchildren, Keith, Nicole, Joseph, Michael, Max, Allie, Samantha, Brodie, Sean, Ethan & PJ.
He was blessed to have 4 precious great grandchildren, Avery, Hannah, McKenna & Ryan.
Salvatore was the son of Vincent & Mary. He was predeceased by two brothers, Dominick and Barney and has a sister Virginia. He served in the Army from 1951 - 1953 and then spent a long career as a car mechanic with his two brothers in Baldwin. When the gas station closed, he then began working in Bellmore at Highway Patrol for the next 15 years.
He was a generous, forgiving, strong caring man. He took pride in everything he did. He truly loved life and was always grateful for everything he had. He never complained even when he was in pain. At the end, we all knew he was in pain, but every time we asked him he would say "no, I'm good."
This world lost a great man and we are all better for knowing and being a part of his life.
