Joseph Devine, Jr. (Little Joe) Formerly of Binghamton, NY May 1 st 1936 – February 26 th , 2023 Joseph Devine, Jr., “Little Joe” passed away on February 26, 2023 after a long fought out battle with several medical conditions. Joe was predeceased by his mother, Janet Devine; father Joseph Devine, Sr.; stepmother Betty Martha Devine; sister Betty Jo Henson; brother William Devine; grandsons Nathan LaBarre and William Finch; and his final love, Joanne Ryan. Joe is survived by his daughters: Kelly (Dave) Robinson, Michelle (Donald) Button, Sharon (Frederick) Sarauw, Misty Lou (Jeffrey) Finch; Ileta LaBarre (DJ Snow); son: Joseph Devine III (Linda Bennett); grandchildren: Nolan (Megan) Robinson, Ryan (Jessica) Robinson, and Troy Robinson; Donald (Marissa) Button and Deeanna (Stephen) Cockerill; Charlene Sarauw (Terry Harris) and David Sarauw; Kaitlyn (Dustin) Bailey, Ashley Perez and Macaulay Finch (Erica Champion); Matthew (Jen) LaBarre, Liz LaBarre (Nick Layton), Leah (Ryan) Schultes, Jacob LaBarre (Amanda Adriance) and Cainan LaBarre (Hillary Morgan); Danielle Ellis (Nathanuel Jacobo) and Joshua (Emily) Devine; 31 great grandchildren; sister Connie Crowe; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extended family Bonnie (John) Biggins and grandson Shawn. Joe served as a Marine for the country he loved from 10/14/1953-12/24/1956 as a cook with honorable discharge. When his children were young, Joe loved to go fishing, camping and telling ghost stories by the campfire. As his children grew, he loved spending his summers selling jewelry and novelties from his and Linda Devine’s store, Earring World at local fairs throughout New York State. As he grew older, Joe still loved to fish when he could, and loved to travel to places he always wanted to go with his final love Joanne. For years, Joe led Saturday night AA meetings in Johnson City, NY; was active in attending AA meetings/activities and loved his AA families. Many heartfelt thanks to Bonnie and John for taking care and looking out for dad as well as a special thank you to the staff at Long Beach Terrace Care Center/Nursing home and Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital. Dad… you were always in our hearts no matter how far apart we were, and there, is where you will always remain. We love you dad. All friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Joe on Saturday, March 18 th from 2pm-5pm at the American Legion Post 1596, 760 Welton St., Harpursville, NY.
