The first time I met Tasia was when she came to Vermont with JoAnna Kopidis to help my soon to be husband , Bill Koutrakos, cook many Greek foods for our wedding reception that was going to be at the house in five days. They brought up many Greek pastries that they had made at home. Tasia was the sister he never had, JoAnna was married to his best friend, Packy who came up with John a few days later. I was extremely nervous about meeting them. Tasia and JoAnna instantly made me feel a part of the family and that was 48 years ago. Tasia was one of the most loving woman I have ever known. We shared many happy memories and she will live in my heart forever, Donna L. Koutrakos

Aunt Tasia was the closest thing to a sister my father had and his love for her is eternal. He lived for her cooking. She put her love into every bite of dolmades, finikia, diples, tiropita... My memories of trips to her house are full of amazing tastes and smells and there is nowhere I have found, here or in Greece, that makes tiropita that tasted as good as hers. They were my favorite food as a child. Her cooking was one of dad's last joys towards the end of his life and she came to Virginia to give that love to him, transforming the kitchen into his mother's for a few days of complete and total Greek family culinary bliss. She was the kind, loving, beautiful matriarch of our family and she was the woman who named me my daddy's doll. I don't think I ever heard her speak to me with any other name. She would put my face in her hands, squeeze, and fill me with love all the way down to my toes. I am crushed to not be with you all on this day, but sometimes the best laid plans get foiled by weather and canceled flights. We remember her in our hearts. May she rest in our love with Uncle John and all those that have gone before us. ❤️❤️❤️ With love, Kristina

Thea Tasia,
you were always there for me and my siblings when we were going through a difficult time. I remember you driving me to the hospital to visit my dying mommy, the sleepovers at your house, the trip to your dad's house in Greece, the back and forth drop offs from the church and home, the bags of clothes you gave me and my sister, your visits, and more. You will be missed. I am sorry I didn't get much time to spend with you these last passed years but I did not forget you as being part of my childhood and there for us too. I was in the Bronx and ran into some photos and this is how I want to remember you: laughing, conversing , and always having a big smile. Rest in peace. You are now with Theo Yanni.
