I've always said that there are two types of people in this world: those who help and those who hinder. Paul was the best kind of helper. He didn't help for the recognition; he helped because he genuinely loved leaving people and situations better than he had found them. I will miss volunteering with him at the soup kitchen and our chats about everything from politics to gardening. I will forever be grateful for having known him, and I will always regret not hugging him the last time I saw him two months ago. I know that his family knows that he absolutely left the world a better place, and I hope that provides some comfort. And, Matt, thank you for continuing his legacy at the soup kitchen, because I know that I speak for many of the other volunteers when I say that having you there makes us feel like a piece of Paul is still with us. My sincerest condolences.

Thank you Paul, for always being such a fierce human being. You showed me so much love and support when I spent time with you all in Long Island. I will always remember how much you emphasized what the importance of family and loyalty means. You have lead such a legendary life, and will always be missed!

Paul was always ready for a celebration. He always brought his positive spirit, stories and a few jokes! We especially loved Paul’s enthusiasm for all the kids in our family and for his interest in everything they did, especially sports! You could always feel his pride in their efforts. He showed genuine interest in all we had to share and his support and love will be so missed. We love you, Paul.
