Our Beloved Son, Miguel António Aguirre-Amaya
On July 7, 1993, our beautiful baby boy, Miguel António Aguirre-Amaya, was born at St. John’s Hospital, in Far Rockaway, NY, weighing 7lbs. A precious gift granted by God to enter this world and touch the lives of many. He was blessed with and is survived by his multifamily:
His Mother, Esther Rodriguez ’s side: His Father, Luis Enrigue Aguirre-Amaya’s side:
Stepfather: Robert Rodriguez, Stepmother: Ludmilda Peralta
Oldest sister: Cynthia Rae Aguirre Henry Youngest Sister: Tatiana Aguirre-Amaya
Brother-in-law: Raymond Henry, Jr., Youngest Brother: Luis Miguel Aguirre-Amaya
Oldest Niece: Juliana Rae Henry Grandmother: Maria Amaya
Baby Niece & God Daughter: Valentina Rae Henry Grandmother: Lourdes Peralta
Younger brother: Matthew Aaron Rodriguez Grandfather: Franklin Peralta
Grandmother: Rufina Feliciano
and his many aunts, uncles, cousins on both sides of the family.
Miguel’s life was filled with love from his parents, siblings, cousins, and friends. He graduated from Oceanside High and went onto college where he graduated magna cum laude from Farmingdale State College earning his degree in Business Management. He then went onto starting his career in with AED Systems and then branched over to Custom Air Ventilation & Heating where he was recently promoted to Chief Project Manager.
Miguel would always make time to spend with his siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, and friends. He had a big heart and was always there to lend an ear or help you out. Whether it’s going out for drinks, bowling, BBQ or just get together and watch a movie. He loved going out to eat and hangout with his family. He loved music ever since he was a child. As youth, he aspired to be a rapper, he gave himself the stage name “Uneek”. He would write his own lyrics and purchase beats for his songs. He loved it so much that he actually got to meet the music producer, Russell Simmons which made him so happy. Also, he formed a group with his friends “NFF” you can talk to Jesse after to find out what “NFF” means.
Some of Miguel’s favorite pastimes were handball, basketball, racquetball, and bowling which he was very competitive. He loved watching all types of sport with his family, but the one that top them all was going to his Titi, Rachael’s house to watch boxing with his Uncle Pete and his dad Robert. There wasn’t one fight that he missed. Even if it meant during COVID-19 that he would have to do group zoom see the fight.
In high school, Karina and Miguel met in the 10th Grade, they shared about 5 classes together. She remembered thinking she couldn’t escape him. As the year progressed, Miguel decided he needed Karina’s help with his homework. Those extra help homework sessions lead to them to spending hours on the phone. They became the best of friends up until they were Juniors in HS and they decided to start dating exclusively on December 27, 2010. Karina at the time had a 2-year-old daughter, named Jazlene. From the moment Miguel met Jazlene, it was a match made in heaven and they were two peas in a pod. He stepped up to the plate to be the best father to her. There wasn’t much that they didn’t do together. Miguel took pride in being her dad, he taught her everything she knows, how to ride a bike, how to swing at the playground, how to read and write. He was at every major event, swimming classes, moving up ceremonies, field day, parent teacher conferences, honors ceremonies, to concerts, watching movies together and making many memories on their vacations together. As she got older, he would take her to nail appointments and most recently they would go to gym together. She was his bright star that he could not stop talking about. It’s her Miggy, as she would call him, he was there, and he made sure to never miss an event. They all grew up together, two high school sweethearts, raising a kid together, looking forward to their future and although their time was cut short; they are so grateful to have had as much time and so many amazing memories with Miguel.
He was also blessed with her family who treated him and loved him like their son. Miguel loved them so much. He had such a high respect for Karina’s father, Luis Estevez. He would always talk about how he admired the kind of husband and father he was. He also adored her mother, Celenia Collado. He would talk to us about her faith in God, about the advice she would give to him, how she would always care for him and make sure he ate and how she would make him coffee in the mornings, she was like a mother to him. There was nothing that he wouldn’t to do for them or their families.
Karina meant so much to him. Miguel spoke to us about his intentions of proposing to her and was preparing to get her the ring and was waiting for the right time to propose to her. He was trying so hard to put everything in his life in order and preparing for his future.
Miguel, you have touched so many lives. Your strength, courage, determination and loving kindness has left an imprint on all of our hearts. Miguel you will be missed but never forgotten.

My heart was ripped out, I had spent the night praying for the souls just to wake up to the news bro. I immediately begged God to bring you back to life if He was real and the pain weighed my heart. God spoke to my heart that same day and told me to be quiet because to us you might have “died” but to you bro now you are truly alive! God played this song randomly on YouTube I had never heard it and was crying about you that day and confirmed you were with Him, Communion by Maverick City. My selfishness still hurts to not have you but thank God I’ll see you again, you were always uneek, my dímelo matatan, my twin❤️ I love you brother. I’ll never forget my brothers words on that song going through the days that he prophesied over my life: “ I wanna see your face, I’m tired of being caught up. I wanna walk on water.”
Miguel you live in our hearts and in Gods presence forever. My prayers and condolences to the family I love you all.

Thank you for being the friend I always needed. You have made a positive impact on everyone around you. Your selflessness, acts of kindness, silliness, and the person you were will never be forgotten. I still can’t believe it. Thank you for being the light we all needed. Continue to shine bright over your family, Karina and Jazlene, and friends. Thank you for being a beautiful human, for sharing a piece of you with those around you. Rest in Paradise! Never goodbyes, but until we meet again! I love you, friend ::hugs:: <3
Gracias por ser el amigo que siempre necesité. Has tenido un impacto positivo en todos los que te rodean. Tu desinterés, tus actos de bondad, tus tonterías y la persona que fuiste nunca serán olvidados. Todavía no puedo creerlo.
