Joseph C. Tucker
Our Father, our Pop, and wife Marguerite’s true love, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 26th, 2022. Joe was 84, one week shy of his 85th birthday.
He was born to Agnes and John F. Tucker on March 5, 1937. He led a life of honesty, kindness and compassion with a deep love and devotion to his family. Upon graduation from Far Rockaway High School, Joe went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, in 1965 Joe became an New York City Police Officer, was stationed at the 100th Precinct and served with his partner and
longtime friend Jim Smith.
He retired a Sergeant from the NYPD and went on to lead the Executive Security Team for Warnaco, Inc. He was an avid runner and ran 13 New York City and Long Island Marathons. He enjoyed summers with his wife and family at Silver Point Beach Club, traveled extensively and could always be found at the center of family gatherings.
Preceded in death by his Father John and loving Mother Agnes (Nana) Tucker, Sister Eileen and Brother-in-Law Bill Brennan, Nephews Robert and namesake Joe Tucker, Nephews Raymond and Patsy Follano, Sister-in-Law Rose and Brother-in-Law Pasquale Follano, Brother-in-Law Joseph and
Sister-in-Law Janet Panichi and his beautiful Niece Alysun Panichi.
In addition to very dear friends, nephews and nieces, Joe is leaving behind his beautiful and beloved Wife Marguerite of 57 years; his Son Neil and Daughter-in-Law Danielle Tucker; his Daughter Marguerite and Son-in-Law Sean O’Connor; his best friend and Brother John and Sister-in-Law Ann Tucker; and his four Grandchildren, Laura and Julia Tucker and Quinn and Grace O’Connor.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Tower’s Funeral Home, 2681 Long Beach Road, Oceanside, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:45 Friday, March 4th at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 110 Anchor Avenue, Oceanside, NY. A private cremation will follow.
