The passing of another legendary man in Oceanside! I cannot think of Mr. Nawrocki without being reminded of his friendship with my dad and our family. Both him and Rose (Mrs. Nawrocki) were great family friends. They had 2 beautiful daughters and a terrific son in Vinny, an old and dear friend of mine. Handsome, athletic and crazy enough to always make me laugh. Of course, Mr. Nawrocki attributed the crazy to Vinny's mom's side of the family.
In my eyes, Mr. Nawrocki was a stable presence of thoughtful reason. Calm in demeanor but always up for a hearty laugh. I liked seeing my parents hang out with the Nawrocki's growing up. They had something unique in common, Polacks married to Italian girls. Mr. Nawrocki was also an accountant and my dad was a coach who was only good with numbers on a basketball court so that worked out well.
Mr. Nawrocki came from a generation of teachers at Oceanside High School that I would say could be considered the greatest generation of teachers. People like him do not come along often and he will be missed. I am so glad he lived a full and blessed life. A life well lived. May God bless you. And comfort you all at this time. A scripture:
