Charles B. (Chuck) Giorlando, 74, of Lynbrook, NY, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning on Friday, August 13th, in Oceanside, NY at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital from sudden cardiac arrest. Chuck was born in Brooklyn, NY to Domiano and Mary Sabella Giorlando. He grew up in Queens Village, NY with his younger siblings, Rosemarie and Joseph. As a teen he loved spending time listening to music and dancing. Chuck went to high school at Andrew Jackson High School and graduated in 1964. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Queens College. He became a computer programmer, running the mainframe computer, for New York Telephone Company (NYTel), now Verizon. In his 20s he met Angelina Fragano. They fell in love and within a few years they had started a family, complete with Damian and Rosemarie. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Chuck managed his illness with strength, grace, and positivity. He loved being surrounded by and spending as much time as he could with his family and friends. He was a loving, kind, and supportive partner to his spouse Angie, as well as an amazing father to their children, Damian and Rosemarie, and a very loving and affectionate grandfather to Oliver, Finn, and Sal. Chuck is survived by his mother, Mary Sabella Giorlando, wife, Angie, sister, Rosemarie Peter, brother, Joseph Giorlando, son and daughter-in-law, Damian and Brooke Giorlando, daughter and son-in-law, Rosemarie and Kevin Rall, three beautiful, healthy grandchildren, Oliver Giorlando, Finn and Salvatore Rall, brother and sister-in-laws, Joseph and Geraldine Fragano, Fernando and Rita Fragano, John and Carol Fragano, Patty Giorlando, nieces and nephews, Al and Jennifer Dumancela, Matthew and Michelle Fragano, Stephen Fragano, Christopher Fragano, Jonathan Fragano, Brandon and Christine Vaughn, Nicholas Giorlando, and Christopher Giorlando. He is preceded in death by his father, Domiano, father-in-law, Salvatore Fragano, mother-in-law, Vita Fragano, and brother-in-law, André Peter. The funeral will be held at Towers Funeral Home, in Oceanside, NY, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations made in Chuck’s honor be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/about-st-jude/faq/how-can-i-donate-to-st-jude.html. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:45 am on Tuesday, August 17th at St Anthony's RC Church, 110 Anchor Ave, Oceanside, NY. A private cremation will follow. Calling hours will be Monday, August 16th from 2-4 & 6-9PM at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY.
