I am truly sorry for your loss. I would like to offer you and your family our deepest and most sincere condolences and may the soul of Robert rest in peace. May the love and prayers of friends and family ease your pain through this difficult time. He put up a good fight until the very end. We thank him for his service in the United States Army and to this nation.
God’s Promise
God never promised a life without pain,
Laughter without tears or sun without rain.
But He did promise strength for the day,
Comfort for the tears and the light for the way,
And for all who believe In His Heaven above
He rewards their faith In His everlasting love.
Robert will be greatly missed by all. I posted a photo of when I last saw him with my Dad, his cousin [James Frederick Exum, SMG (Ret)] at their high school reunion in 2016 in North Carolina.

There is no way to lessen the sorrow of losing someone so precious to you, but please remember that others care very much and wish you strength and comfort at this sad time.
We grew up together and only lived walking distance from each other. Back in the day we double dated while attending high school and in my first year in the United States Army. Later on, Robert joined the US Army too.
I really missed him because we didn’t see each other very much after that but always stayed in touch. We loved each other like brothers. After I retired we would always see each other at the high school reunions in North Carolina.
Love to all of the family. Robert lived a blessed life and will be greatly missed by all.
