“I did it my way.” Dr. Philip A. Giammarino (68) of Oceanside, New York, died on January 30, 2021 in Boca Raton, Florida. He was born in 1952 to parents Anthony and Louise Giammarino in Brooklyn, New York. Philip met his wife Francisca (Maza) Giammarino while both working at a department store in Brooklyn, and married in 1978. Together, they had three children. Philip was a devoted family man, friend and doctor. As an avid fisherman, he shared his love of the water with all. Philip is survived by his wife Francisca, daughter Francisca (son-in-law Carl, grandchildren Sofia, Christian, Nicolas, Daniel and Dominic), son Philip (daughter-in-law Natalie, grandchildren Philip “Junior” and Victoria), daughter Cristina (son-in-law Paul, grandson William), mother Louise, sister Linda and dog-ghter Lola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Philip to the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine Bone Marrow Transplant Program which gave Philip an additional nine years with his loved ones. Entombment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale on Tuesday, February 16th at 12:15pm. Calling hours will be Monday, February 15th from 12 - 4PM at Towers Funeral Home Inc., 2681 Long Beach Rd, Oceanside, NY.
