I had the pleasure of knowing Vera for 18 years; first as a volunteer in the pantry and then as the assistant in Outreach office.
Many people who came to the pantry made it clear that they always came on a Tuesday because Vera was in there.
After Sandy, I would pick her up on Tuesdays and enjoyed listening to her telling me all about her family times at the cabana & she was so proud of her grandchildren! She loved her family so much.....take comfort in that.
Everyone will miss Vera very much along with the neighbors in need who came on Tuesdays to see her.
I was blessed to know her.
