Obituary of Janet M. Doll

Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Janet M. Doll, age 85, passed away peacefully November 21, 2019.  She was born February 15, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to Marion & Charles Hoffmann.  She married the love of her life, James C. Doll, on May 10, 1958, who preceded her in death on January 31, 1987.

Janet spent many years working at County Federal Bank in Rockville Centre.  She then married and spent her time as a devoted wife and mother.  Janet was an expert seamstress, taught by her grandmother, and was also talented in needle work.  She returned to work as an administrative assistant for the Baldwin Public Schools and continued there until her retirement.  She also spent many years volunteering at Mercy Medical Center and delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.

During her retirement, she traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.  Her favorite trip was to Western Canada where she “stood on a frozen glacier on the 4th of July”.

Janet is survived by her daughter Paula and grandchildren Grace and James, and her daughter & husband Joanne & Michael and grandchildren Anna, Emilia, and Antonio.  She is also survived by her sister Judith Hunter and many nieces and nephews.  All of these she loved and touched deeply.
