I have been missing you so badly, its not the same w/out being here, I know your smiling down from heaven being so proud of me for not giving up or breaking down since you passed away because you always told me to be strong no matter what happens or happened. Although I never met Khaseen, my heart grieves for the loss of this young man. His beautiful, uplifting spirit is easy to see in all of the photos I've seen of him. To Khaseen's family: I hope my tears somehow bring you some solace, knowing that this precious boy you raised was so special that he has so deeply touched the hearts of strangers. Prayers from Alabama. Khaseen has filled my mind and heart for the past week. I cry for him and pray for his family daily. I would have done anything to be there and be able to help him. I see so much of my own teenagers in his smile and his spirit. I can’t fathom your pain and “sorry for your loss” seems so totally inadequate. I wish I could pay my respects in person but can’t make the 16 hour drive and maintain my responsibilities here. I will never forget Khaseens smile or this senseless and vile act.
