Harold Gregory Lindsley loving known as “Mike” passed away
Monday September 2, 2019 at the age of 80. He is survived by
his wife Edna, Son Michael (Jamie), daughter Rachel (Geraghty),
and his adored grandchildren Justyn, Taylor, Mikey. He will
be reunited in heaven with his mother Florence Ellis, his father
Edward G. Lindsley Sr., his daughter Michelle Lindsley, his
cherished beautiful granddaughter Kaitlin Geraghty, brothers
Harry Rex & Edward G. Jr. & sister Lolli (McAllister). He is also
survived by his sister Joan (Sorge) and brothers Philip & Jeffrey.
A current resident of Long Beach, NY Harold was born in Bronx,
NY. He and his brothers loved living just blocks from Yankee
Stadium, and he later became a batboy for the New York
Yankees. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during
the Vietnam War. He went on to be an Ironworker for Local
580 and Local 40 in New York City, a welder at the NYC Dept of
Sanitation, and NYC Dept of Corrections at Rikers Island. He
continued to served his community as a member of the
Auxiliary Coast Guard.
Services will be held at Towers Funeral Home 2681 Long Beach
Road Oceanside NY on Wednesday September
4 th from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A prayer service will be offered at
8pm on Wednesday evening.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to
the Heart of American Homes or the American Diabetes
Association.
